A section where it would be all too easy to write about my love of tea, but I digress…

I’m an author and illustrator based in Tamworth, UK. I graduated with a First Class Honours degrees in Illustration from the University of Plymouth.

Having been commissioned by The Times, amongst others, the project which cemented my desire to work within picture books came when I approached Numatic International back in 2014 with an idea for a children’s book. At the time, my young nephew was obsessed about vacuum cleaners (I know!) which gave me the idea to approach Numatic with a children’s book idea about their brand ‘Henry Hoover’. We subsequently went on to work together for 10 years on 16 books, all written, illustrated and designed by me, published and distributed by Numatic International.

In 2023 I was awarded an Arts Council England ‘Developing Your Creative Practice’ grant. I attended an intensive on-line term at the Royal Drawing School, London, and have been mentored by Author/Illustrator Maisie Paradise Shearring and Designer Ness Wood, both of Orange Beak Studio. This career defining experience has allowed me to explore my own practice as an artist, and to develop heartfelt stories, containing plenty of warmth, nuanced with all-important humour.

I’m currently seeking representation as an author/illustrator.
